To celebrate the APECS Polar Week and the concomitant autumnal equinox, we gathered on Tuesday 21 September on the Telegrafenberg in Potsdam to watch several short movies about the cryosphere and, of course, to socialize! With a small group of polar enthusiasts, both from the research campus as well as external, we watched four short movies that were collected as part of the Polar Film Fest organized by US APECS in the previous years. After some introductory words about networking, education and job opportunities through APECS and APECS Germany, we travelled to Greenland and the Antarctic, and learned about both reindeer herding in Sweden and Inuit traditions. It was a very nice evening! Our thanks to all who attended.
